The Kuopio University Hospital Research Foundation (fr) supports health science research conducted at Kuopio University Hospital. The research foundation will award grants to hospital researchers for scientific research activities. The research foundation is involved in supporting high-quality research in, among other things, heart diseases, paediatrics, oncology and nursing. The research foundation also promotes the visibility of the research conducted at the hospital.
High-quality research will ensure effective, high-quality and efficient healthcare in the future. Research will provide new knowledge, for example on the identification of health determinants, the development and introduction of new diagnostic and treatment methods, and the cost-effectiveness of care.
Each year, the KUH Research Foundation awards grants to researchers working at the hospital, in particular for the completion of doctoral theses. The Foundation's grants enable researchers to
to concentrate on their research and for many, the Foundation grants are a prerequisite for completing their research. Financial support enables researchers to devote themselves fully to their research.
Donate
Participate in enabling Kuopio University Hospital's scientific research. The KUH Research Foundation may accept donations from private individuals, communities and companies. Donations may also include commemorations of anniversaries, wills, or returns from charitable events and collections. As a donor, you can, if you wish, make a donation for a particular type of research. The Kuopio University Hospital Research Foundation has been nominated a recipient of tax-deductible monetary donation.

Purpose of the funds collected: The Foundation distributes the collected funds as grants to Kuopio University Hospital researchers. Grants are applied for using the application form. Applications are evaluated according to the evaluation criteria of the Foundation's grants. Grant recipients are required to report on the use of grants. The Board of the Kuopio University Hospital Research Foundation supervises the use of funds by reviewing the reports of grant recipients at meetings.
Grants
The grants awarded by the research foundation are particularly intended for work on doctoral theses. If a donor has nominated the donation for specific research for which there are not enough doctoral research applications, these nominated grants may also be awarded to researchers who have already received a doctorate.
The grant application period is biennial in February. The call for applications will be published on the intranet of the Wellbeing Services County of North Savo before the beginning of the call. Application is carried out by an application form. The application shall be accompanied by a research plan, the applicant's curriculum vitae and a statement by the thesis' supervisor.
A register of personal data on grant applicants and recipients is maintained and the information is published on the foundation's website. If the applicant does not consent to the collection and / or publication of personal data, this must be mentioned in the application. Grant recipients must report on the use of the money to the board of directors of the foundation.
