Located in the midst one of the most beautiful parts of Finland, the North Savo wellbeing services county is surrounded by lakes and untouched nature.
Our mission is to help people to stay in good health within all the 19 municipalities through the efforts of 12,800 professionals. We are one of the altogether 21 wellbeing services counties in Finland.
It is our duty to organise healthcare, social welfare and rescue services and specialised healthcare in all the municipalities of North Savo.
North Savo boasts excellent opportunities for working, studying and living. Education and training for the skills needed in all our service fields is also available in the region.
One of Finland’s five university hospitals, Kuopio University Hospital (KUH), which is the main training place for medical doctors in the country, is located in North Savo. Nursing professionals are also educated in North Savo at two levels (nursing school / university of applied sciences). The Emergency Services Academy Finland is located in Kuopio.
